Social Action

Repair the world through food drives, acts of kindness and social action that help people in need.

Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

This Thanksgiving, we give thanks by giving back. Join us in supporting local families in need through our Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Please bring non-perishable food items to either campus. They will be distributed through The Dorit & Ben J. Genet Cupboard and the Rabbi Gross Food Closet. Cash donations are also welcome through the TBO Finklestone Food for The Needy Fund.

Together we will fulfill the mitzvah of caring for others with generosity and kindness.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
at Kol Ami Emanu-El Campus

Broward Central Synagogue is partnering with The Dorit & Ben J. Genet Cupboard to collect kosher, non-perishable food items for members of our community.

Please drop off your donations at the Kol Ami Emanu-El Campus by Monday, November 16 at 11:00am.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
at Beth Orr Campus

The Rabbi Gross Food Closet has been a Temple Beth Orr tradition for more than 40 years, and food for the needy has become critical. Please consider a cash donation to the TBO Finklestone Food for The Needy Fund (each package costs approximately $25) or bring a food donation to the chest outside the entrance.

Most needed items, cans or plastic only: peanut butter, jelly, canned pasta, soup, fruit, tuna fish, beans, green vegetables and yellow/orange vegetables. These are the only items distributed through the food bank.

Both come straight from the flyers, with no added claims. If you’d rather have a shorter Beth Orr version, I can trim it to two sentences and leave the item list to the graphic.
