From ancient wisdom to modern insights, discovering the seventy faces of Torah together.
Our Adult Education Program
Our Adult Education Program is a dynamic learning community dedicated to deepening Jewish knowledge, exploring contemporary issues and nurturing spiritual growth. Through diverse classes, healing services and cultural programming, we create meaningful opportunities for lifelong learners to engage with Jewish wisdom, from traditional texts to modern applications.
Program Information
Join us for transformative Jewish learning experiences that inspire, challenge and connect. Our Spring 2025 semester offers both in-person and virtual options, ensuring accessible education for all. From mystical Kabbalah to contemporary film discussions, from healing services to Hebrew language study, Broward Central Synagogue’s Adult Education program, powered by the Institute of Jewish Knowledge and Learning (IJKL), provides rich opportunities to explore the depth and breadth of Jewish life and learning.
NURTURING THE SOUL THROUGH SACRED GATHERING
Healing Services
Monthly Healing Services with Cantor, Rabbi Mark and special guests create a sacred space for spiritual and physical renewal. Meeting on select Tuesday evenings (January 8, March 4 and April 15) at 6:30pm, with optional dinner following, we gather as a community seeking comfort, strength and connection. Guided by the principles of Refuat Hanefesh (healing of the soul) and Refuat Haguf (healing of the body), these services offer prayers, meditation and communal support for all who seek healing, whether for themselves or loved ones.
EXPLORING JEWISH LIFE THROUGH CINEMATIC LENS
Film Series
Our Jewish Film Series presents carefully curated award-winning short films that illuminate Jewish and Israeli experiences. Meeting monthly on select evenings (October 22, November 19, December 18, February 26 and March 25) from 6:30pm-8:00pm, each screening is followed by a thoughtful discussion led by Cantor, Rabbi Mark. This series offers unique opportunities to explore contemporary Jewish life, examine cultural issues and engage with the creative voices of filmmakers from around the world. Light refreshments enhance our community gathering as we discover new perspectives through the art of film.
