Rabbi-Cantor Gastón Bogomolni brings a unique blend of Jewish scholarship, pastoral sensitivity and creative spiritual leadership to Broward Central Synagogue. With over 30 years of experience preparing bar and bat mitzvah students across the United States, Latin America and Europe, and a proven track record as tefillah specialist at Solomon Schechter Jewish Day School in Boston, co–rosh shira at Camp Ramah in New England and youth director early in his career, he strengthens the b’nai mitzvah journey through depth, consistency and relationship-based education. His approach integrates tradition, fun, music and art, mindfulness, scholarship and family engagement, fostering lasting bonds between students, families and the Jewish community.
Rabbi-Cantor Gastón Bogomolni is a senior Jewish spiritual leader, educator, scholar, musician and psycho-spiritual and transpersonal therapeutic coach with more than thirty years of international experience serving Jewish communities throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe and the Caribbean. Born and raised in Argentina, he has been shaped by a deep devotion to Jewish tradition, music, education and the healing of the human soul.
His spiritual and leadership journey began at a young age, when he assumed significant responsibilities in Jewish communal life, particularly in youth education and engagement. Early in his career, he served as cantor and youth director at Atid, the Jewish Congregation of Catalonia in Barcelona, where he worked closely with children, teens and young adults, cultivating Jewish identity, leadership skills and a sense of belonging. This early immersion in youth work laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to kesher, mentorship and relational Jewish education.
Rabbi Gastón pursued extensive formal training in both rabbinics, cantorate and music, earning rabbinical ordination from the Rabbinical Academy Adas Wolkowisk after completing four years of study at the Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano Marshall T. Meyer, where he also received an honorary causa degree as Cantor and Jewish Music Educator. Rabbi Gastón also holds a Commission as a Jewish Minister of Faith from the Cantors Assembly. He is a proud member of OHALA, the Association of Rabbis and Cantors for Jewish Renewal and the Cantors Assembly.
He holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Voice Pedagogy (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Nebraska and a Master of Arts in World Music from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. His academic and artistic formation is complemented by intensive studies at the Conservative Yeshiva and Yeshiva Be’er Miriam in Israel.
Throughout his career, Rabbi-Cantor Bogomolni has served congregations across North America and beyond, including Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus in North Miami Beach, Beth El Synagogue in Omaha, Nebraska, Temple Aliyah in Needham, Massachusetts, Temple Beth El in West Palm Beach and Congregation Beit Israel in Flint, Michigan. In these roles, he has functioned as cantor, rabbi, educator, B* Mitzvah director and pastoral leader, guiding communities through Shabbat, holidays, life-cycle moments and periods of transition and renewal.
A central pillar of Rabbi Bogomolni’s vocation has been Jewish education and youth development, with particular distinction in bar and bat mitzvah preparation. Over the course of three decades, he has prepared thousands of students and families around the world, approaching the b’nai mitzvah not merely as a ceremonial milestone but as a transformative educational and spiritual journey. His pedagogy emphasizes Hebrew literacy, Torah chanting, ethical awareness, emotional maturity and personal meaning, fostering long-term connection to Jewish life.
For seven years, Rabbi Bogomolni served as Music and Tefillah Specialist at Solomon Schechter Jewish Day School in Boston, where he led daily prayer, developed spiritually grounded music curricula and integrated mindfulness, nusach and communal singing into the fabric of school life. In parallel, he spent five years as co-rosh shira (co-head of music) at Camp Ramah in New England, shaping the camp’s musical and spiritual culture, mentoring staff and empowering campers to experience tefillah as a living, emotionally resonant practice. These formative environments strengthened his expertise in adolescent development, experiential education and leadership cultivation.
Beyond the synagogue and classroom, Rabbi Bogomolni is widely recognized for his work as a coach, therapist and healer, integrating Jewish wisdom with contemporary psychological and holistic approaches. He holds a Master of Arts in Third-Wave Therapies from ISEP in Barcelona, with training in mindfulness-based interventions, brief therapy and transpersonal coaching. Rabbi Gaston is also certified as a clinical hypnotist helping his clients overcome all types of phobias and inner child traumas. He is a certified premarital facilitator through the Florida Court system and Prepare & Enrich, and has accompanied countless individuals and couples through processes of communication, identity, intimacy and life transitions.
His work is deeply grounded in Jewish ethical, spiritual and mystical traditions. Rabbi Bogomolni is a certified Mussar Facilitator through The Mussar Institute, bringing structured Jewish ethical practice, character development (middot) and intentional living into his educational, pastoral and therapeutic work. He is also a dedicated teacher of Jewish mysticism and Kabbalah, integrating classical sources with contemporary spiritual and psychological insight. At Broward Central Synagogue, he currently teaches weekly Adult Education classes every Thursday, focused on Kabbalah, Jewish spirituality and mystical approaches to personal growth, offering congregants accessible and meaningful pathways into the inner dimensions of Jewish tradition.
Rabbi Bogomolni is also a certified sound healer and psycho-vocal therapist, working with breath, voice and somatic awareness as tools for emotional regulation, healing and spiritual alignment. These modalities deeply inform his pastoral presence and educational philosophy, particularly in working with teens, families and individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, grief and periods of personal change.
In 2019, he and his wife, Marcela Gomez-Bogomolni, LCSW, co-founded Tzimtzum – Institute for Kabbalah, Jewish Mysticism and Spirituality, a nonprofit dedicated to integrating ancient Jewish wisdom with modern spiritual and psychological growth. They also co-founded TAL Community Mental Health Center, where he continues to bridge Torah, therapy, mindfulness and holistic healing in the service of diverse populations, backgrounds and genders.
As a musician, Rabbi-Cantor Bogomolni is an accomplished composer, multi-instrumentalist and international performer. He is the co-author of “Ruach Hadarom,” the first Anthology of Latin American Congregational Jewish Music, presented at major professional conventions and in Jewish communities worldwide. His musical leadership, rooted in traditional nusach and enriched by global music influences, serves as a primary vehicle for spiritual connection across generations and cultures.
Bilingual and multicultural, with 3 children in college, Rabbi Gaston currently resides in Davie, Florida, with his partner, wife Marcela and their two dogs, Talia and Pablo. His leadership reflects a holistic vision of Jewish life, one that honors tradition while responding compassionately and creatively to the emotional, spiritual and developmental needs of today’s Jewish community.
