In times of uncertainty, Jewish tradition turns to story, not just to escape reality, but to understand it. In this four-session course, we will explore the powerful and often haunting stories of Isaac Bashevis Singer, a Nobel Prize–winning author whose characters wrestle with faith, doubt, suffering and survival.
Singer wrote about Jews in crisis, spiritual, emotional and communal, and yet, woven through his work is a quiet but enduring message: resilience, faith and the possibility of renewal.
As we engage these stories together, we will reflect not only on the worlds Singer created, but on our own moment. What does it mean to live through crisis? How do we hold onto hope? And how might the simple yet profound idea, “this too shall pass”, shape the way we endure and grow?
Purchase of “The Collected Stories of Isaac Bashevis Singer” highly recommended.
